Government measures
The Minister of Labor and Social Services of Turkey, Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, said in an interview with media correspondents: “The restriction on the termination of an employment contract is becoming an essential element in protecting the rights of workers during the fight against coronavirus infection.”
Zehra stressed that all payments in connection with the pandemic will be transferred without delay and in full to the extent provided for by law.
For employers
The government is considering ways to incentivize companies to hire new employees. Business in a pandemic should not stop, in the coming period of recovery from the crisis, “flexible” working models will be encouraged. Amendments to the Employment Package also provide for an increase in the contribution to the Insurance Fund.
